What is a 2-Factor OTP (One-time password)?

A one-time password (OTP) is a password that is valid for only one login session or transaction. Latch offers this option as extra layer of protection. You can enable this Latch security feature for your service, or for your service´s operations, as a required feature or as an optional one.

If you enable the OTP as mandatory to log in to your service, your end users will be requested to enter a one-time password after entering their usual username-password credential to log in to the service. They´ll receive the one-time password in their Latch app.

If you activate the OTP as opt-in, your end users will be able to choose whether to enable or disable the one-time password feature for your service or operations from the Latch app.
